How can I tell if my Golden Slider turtle is male or female?

Do you know how long slider turtles live?


I would appreciate any other info on slider turtles care and feeding or a website about them. My turtle is the size of a small plate. How big will it get? Thanks for taking the time to help me.

i dont know much about golden slider turtle but i do know that in general if a turtle's bottom shell is flat then its a female and if it is curved in then its a male .(it has to do with convenient positioning when mating)


i had a turtle for a while and in the beginning i took it to a vet. i found it very helpful because he was able to answer all my questions.


as far as feeding, my turtle would not eat the food i tried to give her for month! i got so frustrated and i thought she was going to starve so i started taking her out side and let her crawl around in the dirt and hope that she would eat some bugs or leaves or something. she eventully started eating the food that i gave her (peaches and balogna were her favorite)

Reply:Female turtle hiss and males do not. I think males grunt. (Just like human males :) He He!)
Reply:well in one thing i can help i think if he it's a female her belly is straight and the male is look like a bowl
