There are red spots on my red eared sliders top part of its shell is this normal?
Below are 2 examples of Shell Rot. Do they look anything like the pictures? (the first 2 pictures)





If not does it look like the 3rd picture? If its the 3rd thats a different breed of slider.
Reply:If the sheddings are paper-thin, fingernail-like, and translucent, and if the tissue underneath is normal looking, then it is normal shedding.





If the tissue is discolored, soft, fuzzy, puss-filled, etc., it is a form of shell rot. If this is the possibility, try http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/me...
