A? about red ear sliders and other turtles?
Maybe. It depends on the size difference in the turtles and their own personal temperments. Sometimes they do fine together and sometimes they don't. They don't prefer to be together, as the first person stated. Turtles are soltary creatures by nature and only tolerate being with other turtles. Sometimes adding turtles together is ok and other times it only brings out their unhappiness. They will potentially fight, become agressive and teritorial, possibly kill one another, and one may not let the other eat which will cause obesity in the dominant turtle and malnutrition in the recessive turtle. Mixing out of sub-species isn't necesarily a good idea as it is hard to even have two of the same sub-species together. The sex doesn't really matter as both male and female turtles can be equally dominant andagressive.

Reply:As long as they are around the same size they will actually be better off together. Make sure they both eat the average amount of food recommended. If they are not eating the average amount of food recommended for several days, they may need to be separated during feeding time.
