Feeding red sliders small fish?

when are they ready to eat fishes like those small one they sell for 10 cents at petco.?? my turtles are about 2.5 inches

I would start with the smallest rosy reds you can buy at petsmart. just buy a couple, and see what the turtles think. i believe mine were about that big when they started eating fish. don't stop feeding the pellets though.
Reply:2.5 inches aww thats awesome u have baby turtles. wut i would recommend is that u try minnows. if they rnt able to catch it then i reccomend u to stick to pellets. this may be sick but every week as a good nutritional diet i suggest u kill a minnow and feed it to ur turtle. i use to have a trutle and all i fed it was pellets and it got sick , threw up and everything went crazy
Reply:I had two red sliders that were about 3-4 inches long that could eat very small Goldfish by taking bites. I would recommend the flakes for now until they grow. You can always try to put a fish in there and see if they can eat it as well.
