You want enough water to allow the largest one to swim and a place where the smallest can stand and get its snout out of the water. Generally, this will mean a sloping bottom to the tank. You also need a basking spot that will accomodate all of them.
Reply:They won't drown as long as they have a good basking site- they are turtles, after all.

The rule is about 10 gallons of water per inch of shell length. Your three turtles probably total about 6-8", so should have 60+ gallons of water.

Oddly, the bigger tank will make your daily cares easier- the water stays cleaner and the filters work less hard (assuming you have the right size), the turtles will fight less, etc.

Reply:I've been tole 4xs the height of a turtle, but I would put more, that what I do, and mines about 3 months.

I put about a foot, he's perfectly fine.

You don't have all 3 in the same tank, right?

well, you better have a 50 gallon or bigger if that's the case.
Reply:use like 2 to3 inches of water in the tank
Reply:Your turtles are going to get big, you want as much water in there are you can put, but make sure you have floating things for them to rest on, such as driftwood, fake plants, etc. The odds of a turtle drowning are when the water is shallower, and the turtle flips over on its back, and does not have enough water to flip back again. However, make sure that you do have a basking spot big enough for all three of them, or at least 3 spaces where they can bask, or at least enough places that they can all be basking at the same time. Also make sure that you have the right water temps and they are getting the right food intake. www.austinsturtlepage.com will have a lot of information to help you out with. Good luck.
