Do red-eared sliders need bacterial eye drops?

I heard somewhere that I should be giving my red-eared slider eye drops every month or so. Is this true? I've had her for about a month now, maybe a little longer, and I haven't been giving her any eyedrops. I looked for them at the pet store, and I couldn't find any. Does she need them? And is so, where can I get them?

If you're taking care of your turtle properly, making sure the water is adequately clean and feeding properly, you shouldn't need to medicate at all. So that's nonsense. And antibacterial drops can only be given to you by a vet... You can't get them at a store.
Reply:Yes, she needs them. You can get the at a pet store sometimes at places like Walmart. You just have to put a few drops in water and let your turtle soak in the water for a little bit.

You can tell when the turtle needs to be soaked because it kind of gets this white/clear gel looking stuff on its eyes. That is when it needs a dip.
Reply:Have you ever heard the expression, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? It applies to medications too. Would you take kaopectate if you didn't have diarrhea? I hope not. Don't treat non-existent illnesses.
Reply:really..i didn't know. i have my res turtles for a good year now. hmm, i'll look into that. thanks.

well, check at a reptile store. they might have them there.
