Red Eared Sliders And their Basking Area?

I HAVE TWO RED EARED SLIDER TURTLES

ONE IS FULLY GROWN AND THE OTHER IS A YEAR OLD.

I JUST GOT THEM A NEW LARGE ZOO MED BASKING FLOATING DOCK. AND THE BIG RED TURTLE WONT LET THE LITTLER TURTLE ON IT.

IS THIS NORMAL

ARE THEY JUST PLKAYING?

Red Eared Sliders And their Basking Area?
I have a basking rock and my three turtles will all stack on top of eachother on it. It's pretty cool. It might be more difficult for multiple turtles to climb one of those floating dock without it making the other turtle slide around, I've never seen my res be territorial, but I'm sure it's possible.
Reply:Sounds like- no wait- it IS territory that they are fighting about. The dominant one is showing his dominance. Except for getting 2 separate cages there is really nothing else that you can do. However, please make sure that the littler one has a 'land' area or another surface in that tank that he/she can climb on to when not allowed in the floating dock.
Reply:yep the big ones marked his territory, get something for the little guy
Reply:This is normal. Unless you have a 150+ tank, keeping 2 turtles together is not recommended. They can get VERY territorial. Expecially since they're sizes are so different, the little guy can get very hurt. If I were you I would either build a large indoor/outdoor pond, a larger tank, or another seperate tank (75 gallons+) to keep them in, (in the first 2 you can keep them together, third tank keep them seperate)

p.s your caps lock is on!
