If i keep my baby tutles (red ear sliders) in a small tank will it stunk their growth?
That is stupid. why do you get pets if you don't think their ''cute'' as adults. either get over it or find them a better home. do they have a UVB light? probably not. Are they in atleast a 20 gallon tank? i doubt it. do they have a basking light? more than likely no. do they have half land half water tank? i highly doubt it. do you feed them a good diet? no,probably not. THIS IS STUFF YOU NEED FOR A TURTLE TO BE HEALTHY. if they do not have it they will die and they will get softshell which is a horrible desease (and painful) so please do the turtles a favor and give them to someone who knows what their doing because if you dont you will be spending atleast $250 on turtles which i think your to young to pay for SO GIVE THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT CARES ABOUT THEM AND KNOWS HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEM!!

geez kids have to stop getting animals when they dont know how to take care of them.

oh yeah and thats just a myth the reptile will grow no matter what size cage its in.
Reply:I believe it will stunt their growth or at least it did on mine. Go to turtlesale.com and read their forums.
Reply:The size of the tank does not affect growth, but poor diet and cold temps will... but that would also cause disease, deformity, pain, suffering... hopefully not your goal.

Certainly the babies are cuter- that is why they sell so well, even though they really do not make that great of pets compared to other turtles.

The prepared keeper buys babies for what they will become as adults. The inexperienced and impulse buyer buys the cute babies and regrets the adults they turn into. This is just as true of turtles as it is of cats and dogs.

When to move them to a bigger tank? Whenever you want. The rule of tank size is at least 10 gallons per inch of shell length.
Reply:It's a natural fact that it is impossible to stunk the growth of tutles, even if their cute stunked.
Reply:You might as well get rid of them. They won't stay small forever. It will stunt there growth temporarily but they will grow to their adult size no matter what size tank they are in. That's animal cruelty. If you want small cute animals get a toy dog as they stay small and look like puppies forever. Reptiles don't do this!
Reply:they r gonna grow nomatter wat unless u kill them which u better not
Reply:it wont slow down their growth it will just make it more uncomfortable for them when they get older.

My turtle was in a ten gallon tank with half of it a basking area and half water and she grew to 4-5 inches within a year. I finally had to get a larger tank for her and now she is about 2 years and 6 inches long!
Reply:No sry but no no and no. have fun.
