Turtles loose thier color as they get old. It is just ageing. But if you give it plenty of light and be shure that it has a healthy diet it will stay bright longer.
Reply:that means yout turtle bask alot or his just old...if he is active then it dosent matter :O
Reply:They will lose their vibrant colors as they age. Thats why some of the bigger/older ones you see are more brown then green. And a lot of babies are BRIGHT green. I heard somewhere (NOT SAYING ITS TRUE) that the more greens and coloful veggies you give it the more the color stays around. Im not saying its true but it might be a good experiment. Remember that RES need varied diets with meats, pellets, and vegetable matter. Be sure to do some diet research to make sure you aren't giving him something unhealthy.
