What do you prefer french doors or sliders and why?
When you say sliders I assume you mean Pocket doors. the big advantage of pocket doors is that the doors take up no space when open. The disadvantage is, if you have beautiful doors you cannot see them when they are open.
Reply:I love french doors because they are clean and more elegant for a space whether you are doing country or traditional. Plus, they are beautiful to look at every morning!
Reply:French, because they're elegant and provide more walk way
Reply:Sliders-- French doors are prettier, but they take away from the usable space in the room. You can put furniture right up against a slider and still be able to use the door. Much more space efficient in a small room.
Reply:I myself like the French doors it adds environment to the rooms, also the value of the house goes up, I'd only use sliders for a patio, if a patio is involved then the sliders are your best bet, but both are nice, its all up to the home owner. you want my advice visit a house that has sliders and a house that has the french doors, check out the neighborhood, many French doors come with bolt locks , not many sliders do, so its up to you, what do you prefer.
Reply:French doors... they're just so much prettier and im sure they add more to the value of the home.
Reply:I have had both and I prefer French doors. They look nicer and are easier to operate.
Reply:Believe it or not, I prefer both... I love the look of French doors and sliders take up much less space... but have you considered this: You can use French doors by making them slider pocket doors??? This means you get the much higher value of French doors and the maximization of room space by having the French doors slide into pockets in the wall...
