Why are mini burgers called sliders?

Cause they are greasy little burgers that are kinda slimey on the bun, and when you eat them, they just slide on down, and OUT!

Why are mini burgers called sliders?
From what I know, it came from an old White Castle advertisement years ago... y'know the mini burgers and they had a combo meal called something like Slyder/Slider Special... and recently in the movie "Harold %26amp; Kumar Goes to White Castle" they referred to them little burgers as sliders.
