What Fish (kinds, names) goes best with Red Ear Sliders?

I currently have 40 gallon wide tank with 2 RESs. I would like to add some fish in it. What are the best, most suitable fish to be with turtles?

thank you for your suggestions/comments/recommendations!

What Fish (kinds, names) goes best with Red Ear Sliders?
I have 2 year RES too, about 6 months old. Prior to about a week ago, we had all different types of fish in 55 gallon tank. Then are turtles decided they wanted to eat one fish, and low and behold one morning we woke up and found about 30 fish gone, 2 floating with no heads. With in 2 days, there was no fish left.

So I did some research, and the only fish suitable to live with RES sliders are fish bigger than the turles. Something like the small sharks they currently sell at PetCo will work really well because they wont over power your turtles because ther're bigger (they're a friendly species) and the turtles wont eat them because they're intimidated by their size.
Reply:i dont think any......
Reply:i have not been able to keep any fish with my turtle. i have friends who feed there turtle rose red minnows. and one day he just decided to make friends with a dark colored minnow and he has been in there ever since. but that is it. we even tried to keep frogs in with him. no such luck. maybe you will have better luck with yours.
