Yes, but only for now. They will get bigger. They tend to live for years, if you take good care of them.

Reply:i have two red eared slider turtles.....they are living with my fishes.....you should have a light over the water (to keep it warm), a rock so they can sunbath, and have the water so they can cool down....they live for a very long time....and they get pretty big.....
Reply:I'm not sure why everyone is saying this is ok. Red-eared sliders can grow to a foot in length if they are female, and males will get a lot bigger than your little babies are right now, also, I think at least 8 inches. Everyone on here usually recommends 10 gallons of water per inch of each turtle. They need a lot of room, they like to swim. You will probably need a minimum of 100 gallons. You can get rubbermaid tubs instead since the glass aquariums are so expensive, plus these guys need a lot of other things, like a strong filter, a heat lamp and a uvb light over a basking area so their bodies can process the calcium that is needed in their diets for their shells. austinsturtlepage.com is always recommended on here for good turtle care. you should def. take a look at it to see exactly everything you need for your turts. they are great pets and will live probably 20-30 yrs if properly taken care of.

Read everything here to provide good care for your turtles! NO, a 10 gallon is nowhere big enough for a lifetime...like said above, will end up needed 100gallon, plus lots of other expensive equipment!
Reply:No. RES grow very very big and ten gallons for even one of them would be torture. You would need to by a monstrous tank. An idea that I got would be to buy a large plastic kiddie pool and fill it with water. Get some large climbing rocks, the kind made for when RES like to bask in the sun. I am not an experienced RES owner. You would have to add some other accessories and heaters for winter but otherwise its a good idea.
Reply:they will outgrow the tank very fast IME a ten (us) gallon aquarium will last about 1 month. Fully grown were talking a dinner plate and for 2 your defo going to need a 100 gallon aquarium with a decent filter to keep them happy! remember a 10 gallon aquarium gives them 5 gallons of water. If you can provide a bigger tank or cant affort it i suggest you dont get them. There are some nice fish you could get for a 10 gallon guppies?
Reply:Perfect could put three or more if you wanted fill half full of water floating rock and screen on top lots of fun for long time.
Reply:Yeah...but you want to get a 20 long aquarium...there are some that are desighned for turtles...one brand name is "Turtle Tanks" look it up online..there better looking because you can hang a back fillter on it and yo udon't have the ugly fillter in the corner.
